ILITHA-LESEDING FOUNDATION

Mission Behind our Vision

Ilitha foundation is a Non-Profit Organisation found by young driven south africans with a passion of youth and community development projects in 2009. The idea of initiating this organisation was rooted from their associations with successful projects like ADOPT-A-SCHOOL (Cape Peninsula University of technology) and INKANYEZI (University of Cape Town), led by the two institutions' student bodies.
The partners having had the experience of coming from disadvantaged communities they had a vission to establish an organisation that will aid troubled and disadvantaged young people living in rural and township areas, through the implementation of career libraries and a studies trustfund to High School learners that need financing and career guidance for thier studies.

They decided to begin with their own community schools to help develop and motivate the learners to have a sense of hope in furthering thier studies and to help them dream beyond their poverty stricken limitations, by providing them with a library equipped with career guidance materials, tertiary application forms, brochures, information,  and as well as raise funds for application fees. they have thus far had success in establishing the first career library at Sinethemba High School situated in a small township called Phillipi in Cape Town Western Cape. They have to depend on sponsorships and donations from big companies and what they are offered by caring and generous individuals to fund the organisation's operations as well as finance the needs of the learners.

They aim to take their projects national, to help the whole of south african public disadvantaged schools, to create a better learning for all.

"I will do whatever it costs to help my fellow brothers and sisters one school at a time" says Sharon Rapetswa (founding partner) .

"Leseding has made me realise that; Yes i can dream beyond limits and education is my light to lead me to a brighter future, thank you to Leseding Foundations! you have paved my way!!! Thobekani Lose (one of the learners at Sinethemba High School)"

"Leseding is here to stay and will continue to give hope to those that are hungry for knowledge and education one school at a time" says the partners of Leseding foundations.
